What is an estimate budget for four months backpacking in India?

I am planning to go backpacking in India after summer and it’s a fairly fresh decision, so I have no idea about anything yet. Can anyone tell me how much money would i have to have for around 4 months of cheap but not drastically cheap life? how much do i need per day? and other useful info and links please. thank u
