I am visiting France, Germany, Italy. When does the winter end in Europe.

I am planning to travel with my baby from mumbai to london and my baby is of 8 weeks. Is it safe to travel on such long distance flight and what precautions i should take if it is ok to travel.

Starting October 7th I am going over to Europe for two months. Staying in Innsbruck, Austria (my birthplace). I plan on getting a Eurail pass. Where do you think I should visit? What are definite places I need to go?
Also London is not included in the Eurail.
