Can anyone suggest the best (affordable and safe) country to visit in South East Asia? ?

I visited SE Asia last September (Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Philippines). I’m planning to explore more of SE Asia on my vacation leave next month. For western standards, Singapore is still quite a bit pricey while the Philippines is a lot more affordable (beware of some taxi cabs in the Philippines – big rip offs) compared to Hong Kong and Sinagpore.
Any suggestions? Thailand (Bangkok / Phuket)? Indonesia (Jacarta / Balli) ?
